LUSH Vanilla Dee-Lite lotion

Vanilla Dee-Lite is one of the  products that contains the Vanillary scent.  This is a very light lotion – thin, but creamy.  A good lotion if your skin is normal or you want to skip perfume for the day.  It sinks into the skin VERY quickly and doesn’t leave any kind of greasiness behind at all.  If you really need a heavier lotion, Vanilla Dee-Lite isn’t the lotion for you at all.

My only complaint about this is the scent.  The Vanillary scent is nice – except on my skin.  It’s a combination of Vanilla, Jasmine, and Tonka Absolutes.  While the scent is really heavy on vanilla, the jasmine (to me) gives it an off note.  On the dry down, the scent smells slightly of plastic.  This might just be me, so don’t be afraid to try this product based on my scent review.

LUSH Handy Gurugu hand cream

First, the good things about Handy Gurugu: this is one of the best hand creams I’ve ever used.  It is very thick and rich and it moisturizes the worst skin SO well.  The biggest plus is that it’s not at all greasy.  HG has all these wonderful butters and oils in it, and they sink right into your skin.  And as little bit goes a long way.

Now, the worst thing: the smell.  Most people like it, but me, not being most people, can’t stand it.  I tried to use it up as quickly as possible, but since a little bit goes a long way, it was taking me forever.  I finally had to give it away when I had about 1/3 of it left because the smell nauseated me so badly.

If they made this with the Porridge scent, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

LUSH The Soft Touch body butter

In the winter, my hands get dry.  I’m a serious hand washer, which doesn’t help matters, so my hands have not only been dry and chapped, they’ve had little splits in the skin all over them.  The Soft Touch body butter is made for just these types of situations, so I was excited to try it.  I rubbed it all over my hands (it’s a solid body butter, made of butters and oils, so it’s pretty oily and greasy), then put my lotion gloves on and went to bed, expecting miraculously soft hands the next morning.  Well, it sort of worked, but I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be.  My hands were a little better in the morning, but not soft by any means.  On night two, I used Ocean Salt to exfoliate my hands before I used Soft Touch, and while that helped a bit, I was still a little underwhelmed by how it worked.  On the plus side, this smells amazing!

Soft Touch can also be used as a massage bar.  Just hold it between your hands to warm the bar up, then put it on whatever body part needs the knots worked out.
